ComicBase Tip of the Day:

Setting all Value Fields to the Cover Price

Ever find yourself entering a new issue when you realize too late that the cover price has changed? Sure, you could just enter a new cover price, but you’d still have to spend precious seconds entering the new price for your Year 1 through 4 price values, as well as the current selling price. Why, just to think of how we might better use those moments…to take that next sip of Diet Coke… to pet your dog… maybe even tickling a toddler who might happen to be underfoot at the time… well, it makes me want to weep at the sheer heartbreaking loss of it all.

That’s why we invented the most badly documented keyboard shortcut in the whole program. Just press Ctrl-R from the Cover Price field on a comic’s detail view and you’ll instantly set all your value and price fields for that issue to its cover price.

...Now go out there and tickle your toddler!

(If you need a toddler to tickle, mine is available for parties and speaking engagements. For bookings, consult “Kelly’s Mom”, care of this column)
