ComicBase Tip of the Day:

Atomic Avenue: What if I Only Want to Sell my Dupes?

Are you the sort of person who pretty much wants to hold onto the comics you’ve got, but wouldn’t mind selling your duplicate issues off to earn a little cold cash? If so, Atomic Avenue makes it easy: just set your Minimum Quantity field to 1 (or however many copies you can’t bear to part with).

The little known “Minimum Quantity” field tells ComicBase how many of a given issue you’re holding back from sale. When you post your comics to Atomic Avenue, only the amount in excess of that number gets posted to the system. So, for example, if you’re like me and have accidentally bought 3 copies of Hellblazer #37, I can put two of them up for sale by setting the minimum quantity on that issue to 1 before I use the Sell command to sell them on Atomic Avenue.

Note that the minimum quantity applies to each condition of the issue: it doesn’t attempt to second-guess which condition you’d want to hold onto. If, for instance, you’ve got a copy of Amazing Spider-Man #123 in VG and another in VF—both with a minimum quantity of 1—neither one will be offered for sale.

Additional tip: You can also use the Comics > Mass Change command to set the minimum quantity across the entire database.
