Compatible with recent changes made to the ComicBase
web server.
Makes ComicBase compatible with Windows XP
Improves the log messages written when upgrading to
a new version of ComicBase.
Prevents problems that can occur when upgrading to
a new version, if the old version of ComicBase has an out-of-sync titles
in stock list.
When upgrading from an old version, ComicBase now
automatically matches titles whose names differ by punctuation from their
proper names (e.g. if they were added without using curved quotes, etc.).
Whenever such a match is done, a log message is also written.
If you choose to create a new title when importing,
ComicBase also imports the issues of that title.
Allows Mass Change to change the contents of custom
issue fields
Prevents users from blanking out years, which could
cause an error.
Prevents an error message which could occur after
choosing "Save a Copy..."
Rebuild Lists > Issue Information now scans for
and corrects any invalid characters that may have snuck their way into the
Notes field.
Makes ComicBase content updates work under Windows
2000
Automatically clears the "Read Only" bit
on the database (which might have been set if the database was backed up
to, and restored from, a CD-R)
The Content Updates window is now resizable, and allows
you to more easily download files whose names include spaces.
Avoids carrying over old price history when you upgrade
from an old version of ComicBase and indicate that you want to reprice issues;
the new version's price history is used instead.
Holding down the Alt Key and clicking on a picture
will reveal that picture's original file in the Windows Explorer. Holding
down the Alt key and clicking on the publisher name will reveal the publisher's
picture folder in the Windows Explorer.
Changes File Tools > Rebuild List of Issues > Issue
Information to do clean-up across the database, removing duplicate information
which tends to pile up over time due to slight differences such as "1st
appearance of THE Punisher" vs. "1st appearance Punisher" These
could easily get carried from version to version when upgrading, making silly
notes like "1st appearance of the Punisher; 1st appearance Punisher".
The new Files Tools > Rebuild Lists > Issue Information clears these
up, as well as duplicate storylines, artist, and writer credits.
ComicBase can now download and process content upgrade
files to fix errors and typos in the database. Once you run this update,
choose "Check for Program Updates" and you'll see the July update.
It can also download new movies and other content (two new movies are included
for testing).
Adds better sorting for pictures of variant covers.
Renames the Sin City movie to "Sin City (Dark
Horse)" if it's been copied to your hard drive, so that it appears when
viewing the Sin City title in ComicBase.
Addresses a reporting incompatibility with certain
versions of Crystal Reports
Fixes an error that could occur when repeatedly selecting
the same title to print when printing individual price labels. Also revamped
the entire Select Issues dialog.
Made the Select Issues and Select Title dialogs resizable.
Also, improved the way selection works on both dialogs.
ComicBase will now detect the presence of a picture
disk whenever it is inserted--not just when the program starts. It will also
detect the presence of a network drive with a ComicBase Data folder in it
to allow picture serving over the network.
Improved the way editing descriptions works, and solved
a glitch which would misremember font settings.
Worked around a bug present in some numeric keypads
which causes them to send a Ctrl-B whenever the "2" key was pressed--activating
the internet "Buy" command. (Yes, this was a weird one).
