Comic Book Software Company Seeks Heroic Intern

Human Computing, the leading powerhouse in comic collector software seeks a creative and driven Marketing Intern with the desire to make a mark. We are a dynamic and fast-paced company, with a growing internet presence. Our flagship product is ComicBase, the world’s #1 database and inventory software designed to help comic collectors keep track of their collections. We are always looking to raise the standard in the industry, and in 2006, our award-winning development team pioneered the very first Blu-ray software on the market. We are used to working with only the very best. With more than a decade of experience in our business, our outstanding work has garnered praise from everyone from Wizard to PC Magazine.

The intern we seek must be able to think on their feet in a high-speed environment that encourages creative thinking and development of innovative and cutting-edge projects. You must be smart and sharp and able to roll with the punches—the kind of person who can keep up with a company that works faster than a speeding bullet. Our ideal intern must be motivated, hard-working, think out-of-the-box, and be possessed of a solid desire to learn how to get new marketing strategies off the ground.

This is a challenging, rewarding internship geared towards high-achievers who want to learn new skills, work with a great team, and contribute in a major way to the success of the world’s #1 collection software system. This is an unparalleled opportunity to make a mark and have a profound impact on the company’s marketing solutions.

The right candidate will also:

  1. Excel in creative and innovative thinking and problem solving
  2. Address marketing needs of the company as a whole as well as dive into specific projects
  3. Be self-motivated, focused, and detail-oriented
  4. Project self-confidence and enthusiasm
  5. Be able to prioritize, juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  6. Use resources effectively and efficiently to reach goals
  7. Excel at organizational, analytical, negotiation, written and verbal communication skills
  8. Demonstrate obvious leadership potential
  9. Be able to work independently on projects under deadline and steer them to completion
  10. Be people-oriented and patient with a positive attitude
  11. Possess a Bachelor’s degree

The intern we take on will need to commit a minimum for 20 hours a week to this role.  Some flexibility in your works hours can be arranged. A stipend of $50 a week will be provided as well as reserved parking space at our downtown office in San Jose. For students pursuing an advanced degree, credited study is a possibility.

To be considered for this position, you MUST submit a cover letter. This is your chance to “Wow!” us with your talent. E-mail resumes in Word/PDF format, referencing “Marketing Intern” in the subject line to pbickford@human-computing.com. Applications without cover letters will not be considered.
